Baked Italian Penne

Ronco Penne pasta is the perfect tube pasta to sneak in some of the tasty sauce of peppers and pepperoni.

Serves 4

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Ronco Penne
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • 4 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 pound pepperoni, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add garlic, onion, peppers and basil; cook and stir 3 minutes. Add sauce and pepperoni; simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Spread 1 cup sauce mixture into the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish. Layer 1/2 of the Penne, 1/2 of the sauce mixture, 1 cup mozzarella and 1/2 cup Parmesan. Repeat layering.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
